Martijn Koolen takes over as new CEO of ITI
Iquique Terminal Internacional (ITI), a terminal operated by SAAM Terminals, announced the appointment of Martijn Koolen as the port’s new Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Koolen holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics and law from Fontys University of Applied Sciences and business studies from the Koninklijke Military Academy in the Netherlands.
“We are sure that Martijn’s international experience will be a great contribution to continue moving ITI into the future and address the terminal’s immediate challenges, focusing on safety, efficiency and excellence,” said Mauricio Carrasco, Chairman of the Board of ITI and Managing Director of SAAM’s Port Terminals Division.
The new executive has held managerial and operating roles at terminals in Mexico, Peru, Mozambique and Rotterdam over the past 15 years. He is succeeding Ricardo Córdova, who will stay on as an advisor to the company, which should allow for a smooth transition.
