Florida International Terminal adds new ONE service connecting the U.S. with Latin America
In a few weeks the terminal will be added to the FLX service operated by the magenta shipping line.
Florida International Terminal (FIT) informed that it will begin to serve the new FLX service for refrigerated cargo at the end of September. Operated by ONE, it will connect Callao (Peru) and Guayaquil (Ecuador) with South Florida.
“We are very pleased to join this new ONE offering, which seeks a direct and fast connection to Latin America. Shipments of fruit, vegetables and seafood from this area continue to grow and our team is committed to supporting these shipments to reach their final markets in optimal condition,” said FIT General Manager Justin P. Weir.
“We appreciate ONE’s vote of confidence. We will strive to be their best allies, working safely and efficiently,” the executive added.
The FLX service will deploy four vessels on this new trade and will sail weekly. Direct routes include Callao-South Florida in 11 days, Paita-South Florida in 9 days and Guayaquil-South Florida in 8 days. In addition, FLX offers a direct connection from South Florida to Honduras and destinations in Colombia, Ecuador and Peru.
