Specifically, container transfer volume increased by 43%, reaching a total of 3,346,949 tons in 2024 compared to 2,344,247 tons in 2023. SVTI’s General Manager, Juan Pablo Santibáñez, remarked, “This increase reflects the terminal’s ongoing efforts to provide high-performance logistics solutions tailored to the needs of international trade. It is the result of close collaboration with our workforce, who have consistently demonstrated their dedication to maintaining high operational standards and delivering quality solutions to our clients.”

In the case of general and bulk cargo, the terminal had an increase of 16% with 201,076 tons. Export traffic was one of the main drivers of SVTI’s growth, reaching 2,527,828 tons, a 30% increase compared to 2023. Meanwhile, imports increased by 26% to 520,694 tons, while empty containers and re-stowage, transshipment and traffic operations also grew.

During the year, the terminal added the AN1 service operated jointly by MSC, Hapag-Lloyd, ONE and HMM, which allowed it to strengthen its offer of logistics services focused on improving connectivity in the region. “The AN1 is part of our strategy to offer quality service, with faster transit times and increased cargo capacity, benefiting our clients and positioning SVTI as a key player in the international trade of the central-southern macrozone,” added Santibáñez.

Beyond operational achievements, SVTI continued to reinforce its commitment to the community through initiatives aimed at introducing future generations to the port industry. During the year, the terminal welcomed 651 students who participated in open house sessions and learned first-hand about port operations, the importance of safety at work and the port’s impact on the local and global economy.
